Creative Studio Collective | Lumber Exchange | Downtown Minneapolis

A dedicated section of the 10th floor within the historic Lumber Exchange is being transformed into a dynamic collective of artist and creative studios, with thoughtfully designed spaces ranging from 100–300 square feet. The concept brings together painters, designers, makers, and creative entrepreneurs in an inspiring shared environment that fosters collaboration, visibility, and community. Surrounded by the character and architectural detail of one of Minneapolis’ most iconic buildings, the studios offer an accessible and affordable hub for working artists in the heart of downtown.

By introducing active creative workspace into the building, the project helps restore authentic artistic energy to downtown Minneapolis—cultivating a destination where art is created, shared, and experienced daily.
